The Students’ Science Fair 2024 was held today at Government Higher Secondary School, Kiphire. A Science Seminar under the theme “Artificial Intelligence: Potential & Concerns” and a Science Exhibition under the theme “Science & Technology for Society” was held as part of the event which was organized by the District Education Office, Kiphire in collaboration with Directorate of School Education and Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland.
The seminar focused on the positive and negative sides of artificial intelligence in today’s age, when men cannot be isolated due to the influence of such AI in our daily life from our simple communication devices to our daily office activities on the computer. It also highlighted how through AI, one can really go beyond improving lives in medical research, fuel efficiency, weather forecast, prevention of future disaster or diseases but at the same time posting security threat to individual, company or nation at large.
The Exhibition on the other hand showcased various models. The 1st Position in Exhibition (group category) was won by Loyola Higher Secondary School for its model on “Sustainable and Resourceful City” where life in the urban section of our society could be organized in a way which is environment friendly, well planned waste and energy management which also included efficient transportation and communication system.
The model, “Transport and Communication in 20th and 21st Century” by Cambridge High School, begged the 2nd position under group category.
All together 11 School participated in the Science Fair 2024 both government and private schools included.
